ABout Me
Barbara’s degree is from Northwood University – Midland Michigan. With a Masters degree in Christian Counseling from Christian Leadership University - Buffalo New York, she claims no mental health credentials. Barbara has chosen to “not be licensed” so that she will not be restricted in any way by state regulations when dealing with the spiritual dynamics. However, since 1999 she has worked closely with proven techniques from the leaders in the area of inner healing, which are now widely accepted in the field of Christian counseling and many clinical counseling circles.
While recognizing the value of learning and applying the generally accepted treatment principles used by professional therapists and psychiatrists, Barbara’s treatment approach specifically addresses the significant spiritual dynamics occurring in areas of our lives where God’s freedom, prosperity, security, and peace are not apparent.
She completed The Basic School of Prayer Counseling in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1999 taught by the staff of Elijah House-US (John and Paula Sandford's ministry). In 2000 she completed the Advanced School of Prayer Counseling in Spokane, Washington taught by the staff at Elijah House main facility. Further, she has completed the TheoPhostic training taught by TheoPhostic Ministries (the ministry of Dr. Ed Smith). Her spiritual gifts are:

What is Whole Heart Healing?
Whole Heart Healing is a Christ–Centered Ministry designed to bring real freedom and healing to people struggling with life’s issues and to bring them to a place where they are able to EMBRACE THEIR TRUE IDENTITY IN JESUS CHRIST. We believe the ultimate calling of Whole Heart Healing is for individuals to leave the counseling process with a deep, personal awareness of the love of God and a passion for Him, His Son, and the Body of Christ.
We refer to this phenomenal form of healing and transformation as Inner Healing Prayer Therapy. This form of inner healing uses prayer as the foremost counseling tool, and utilizes a blended approach of proven ministry techniques from leaders in the field. We primarily use the basic and advanced teachings of inner healing and deliverance developed by John and Paula Sandford (Elijah House) and numerous others such as:

Real freedom and healing are possible by the grace of God, who has provided His Son for our salvation and His Spirit to heal and restore. We invite God's presence into the counseling process. We never cease to be amazed and inspired as we see His healing power transform shattered lives time and again.
How We Began
Whole Heart Healing Ministries is the continuation of more than a decade of work in the field of inner healing and deliverance with various centers in the West Michigan area beginning in the late nineties. The goals of the ministry are to identify the primary areas of “dis-ease”, or dissatisfaction, and bring healing to the root causes of the areas of disturbance. This is accomplished through the healing, redemptive quality of submission to Jesus and through the “peace that passes understanding” when we allow the Lord to work in deep areas of our heart such as:

* Soul/Spirit Hurts (Luke 4:18)
* Demonic Oppression (Mark 16:17)
West Michigan is a great place to come for ministry, rest and restoration when you need time away to get back on track. The demand for this form of healing has drawn clients from as far away as Canada, England, Germany, Switzerland and New Zealand to the beautiful resort area of Grand Haven.
